Television broadcast is no longer what it was. Now we see programs not only on our TV, but the internet and mobile phones. Content Delivery is the term heard more often than Television Broadcast.  Net based or IPTV product, such as portable computers, gaming consoles and set-top boxes, is one of the most rapid growth categories in the electronic market. Additional channels and web services will accelerate this growth. The consumer products will in turn drive the need for interactivity, hence it is essential that the Content Provider/Television Broadcaster plans in readiness for this new challenge. This is quite a mammoth task as the operational needs and technical infrastructure must balance with the business objectives.

This interactive digital content delivery system involves many products that must seamlessly work together. There is the existing broadcast system, then from this re-purposing comes into place seeing the need for further implementation of equipment such as compression systems, e-commerce systems and both subscriber and content management systems. Most likely also would be the inclusion of a data carousel, a conditional access system and multiple EPG generators.
